About: These meteorites are part of the Campo de Cielo meteorite group, which fell to Earth about 4000 years ago in Argentina.

The initial meteorite was formed during the creation of our Solar System, and likely came from our Asteroid Belt. It was full of impurities, causing it to mostly break up into smaller chunks and pieces during its descent down to Earth. As the many fragments scattered in the air, they impacted into a large area (known as the Campo de Cielo). So far, 26 craters have been found. In and around them, you can find these small iron meteorite fragments.
